| BATTLE OF THE BANDS |
[08 Sep 2004|09:03pm] |
4 out of 5 Sparkman High Battle of the Bands This Saturday, September 11th 5:00 in the PM Please come and yell for us. It will be a good time.
Please come out because it is the last time that you will have the wonderous opportunity to see us play live before our drummer throws his life away by attending the California Institute of Technology. Just like the HHS Battle of the Bands, crowd participation is about 25% of our score so it's very important that everyone come and cheer for us. You can even make flyers if you'd like. We love you all and thank you...hopefully everyone who ordered a cd got one and if you didn't then contact us in some way and we'll try and make sure that you get one as soon as possible. Oh, and we hope you all liked our songs, too...

Well the ep is completed and in the process of distribution, I you have paid and have not gotten yours and feel like busting someones face about it then call one of us or just post. We will get it to you though, you are not forgotten.
We really want to play a show before half of us leave for sweden, that does seem just beyond our reach though due to everyone being busy as hell.

Actually we are now at roughly 40 copies...and 20 more should be done by tomorrow night....so we may very well start distributing monday. Oh and we were considering making posters and/or t-shirts....and basically I wanted some opinions on that. Both will probably fall into the range of $10-15 and will very likely come with an offer to pre-order for a smaller price as it is much more convenient for us. I understand that most of you are poor students like me, but we appreciate you're continued support. Of course this is just a poll to see how many people would be interested in the stuff. If approved I'll submit designs for critiquing prior to the pre-ordering (not that there is any question that they will be incredibly gorgeous). Once again thanks for you're continued patience, we hope to make it worth every second. 4 out of 5 loves all of you 80% and that's the best we can do.
--David K. (the drummer, in case you forgot)

Once again if you preordered and/or prepaid thank-you thank-you thank-you. You are devine. We're very excited to be able to start giving something tangible back to all our friends and fans. (I don't think I'll ever get comfortable refering to people as fans...thanks for fitting the bill)

| Update! |
[23 May 2004|07:57pm] |
Ok so we recorded last Sunday. The songs are being mixed and will be done hopefully within the next few days. We don't know if we really have a plan for packaging or anything for it, we may hand copies out to people first and then mess around with packaging and all that later who knows, not us.
Anyway if we've had your money for two weeks or however long then fear not, we have your name and will get you your copy of the demo as soon as we can. If memory serves there may be pictures of the recording somewhere buried deep in the memory on Zach's camera, perhaps we will post them if we get around to it.
Thanks for your patience, we really are sorry for not giving you any information this last week.

| so we have a lot to talk about |
[08 May 2004|05:32pm] |
It has been a very interesting 24 hours. We collected money from our dear and devoted friends who wanted to help us out with our recording fee and also get a copy of the demo that we hoped to produce this weekend. Around 4 o'clock we got together at Zach's house to prepare for our journey to Harvest. We began to play through a few of our songs to make sure we were ready, and Matt received a phone call from Wade, one of the guys who was to record us. We should explain now that Wade co-owns all of the recording gear with his friend David. David and Wade were not able to get in touch in time this week and so David had to work last night and today, making it impossible for us to record. We were highly disappointed, but immediately began frantically calling anyone we knew who we thought might know someone that could possibly record us if not immediately then at least soon. We got a few leads, but none for any sooner than a week or two. We felt terrible that we had all of this money from our wonderful friends and nothing to give them for it. Eventually we decided to try and do something despite our rather unfortunate situation, so David went to his house to get his computer complete with badass soundcard. Jake was kind enough to let us use some extra microphones of his as well a his extra mic stands. We set up all of this equipment in Zach's garage last night, experiencing multitudes of technical difficulties along the way. By the time it was all set up we were extremely tired so we watched tv and went to sleep at Zach's house. We woke up this morning and then had to drive out to David's so that we could grab a couple of extra cords that we needed to finish our setup, then returned to Zach's to begin our recording. We decided that since everyone was badass enough to give us money then we should try and at least have something to show you all, so we recorded four songs and burned them to cd for anyone who who has pre-ordered a demo. We promise that we will be recording a real, full length one for you soon and that your money is still safe with us (we'll post pictures to confirm this later on), but we want to be able to give you guys something for your money right now. The tracklist is as follows: 1. Satisfy the Masses 2. Hat Trick 3. The UK 4. Where is My Mind (just because we like that song so damn much). The quality is certainly not quite up to snuff..well...because we recorded it with in a completely makeshift garage-studio, but maybe you can get the idea of what the songs sound like even so. We hope you enjoy, and thank you guys for your support and for putting up with us all...we love you

Ok, in lieu of a real website we have constructed a meager livejournal so as to have some sort of media center for our five or six admirers to...admire. We will use it like a real website with news and stuff and this way you wont have to join to post or anything like that, youre going to have to excuse any grammatical or spelling errors along the way, anyway all that crap is in our user info, now on to...
NEWS! Yes, we have some news, actual newsworthy news, whodathunkit? This weekend we will "go into the studio" as the big boys say. In our case "the studio" will be the home of our dear friend Wade and "going into" it will entail throwing his parents and dogs out of the house and setting up his and David (Marazzo)'s recording equipment. It will be crazy and we will love every minute of it. Hopefully when all the smoke clears we will have a demo, actual tangible evidence that we are a legitimate band and not just a collective wet dream, nebulous in the imaginations of four naive young men. It is all very exciting, because we will be able to sell this demo which brings us to...
SHAMELESS COMMERCE! Ok I'm gonna take a knee and try to be gentle. We would love nothing more than to be able to record cds of ourselves and hand them out to each and every one of our beautiful glorious radiant wonderful friends. If we had our way anyone who wanted one could come up and grab a cd out of a big plastic pumpkin like haloween. And anyone who was there to bathe us in love at the battle of the bands would get a big hug and a sloppy ass kiss with their free cd. ...There is good news and bad news. The good news is you can still get the hug and sloppy kiss if you so desire, just ask. The bad news is that we are poor and cannot afford to record and hand out free cds. But we aren't going to rip you off, our demo will cost $5 a cd. And if you want to pre-order one (pre-order...sounds really proffesional doesn't it, see isn't this fun?) then you can and we will make absolutely certain that you get your copy as soon as we can physically can produce it. We are also working on some packaging so if you prepay you may be able to get a snazzily packaged cd with dumb little liner notes and everything, though we can make no promises as we still have to make this thing. So if youre interested in supporting us in our silly musical endeavor and want to have a handful of 4 out of 5 songs to play on a whim in your headphones, car or even (dareisay?) bedroom then find us and sign up for a pre-order or post here and leave a name if you have some strangely undecipherable user-name, which we know you do.
Tracklist: not that you care but here are the titles of the six songs we plan to record...
1. Satisfy the Masses 2. Hat Trick 3. The Jester 4. The UK 5. Tryptophanatic 6. Deeper Hinges
...there it is, we hope you are all as excited as we are. We love you all, thanks.
